Intel on Tuesday announced its next-generation X25-M drives with improved performance and lower price. Forced by this, OCZ has started to adjust its pricing strategy according to Anandtech.

The pricing of OCZ Vertex series 64/128/256GB has been reduced to $190/290/600, and that of Agility series 64/128GB drops to $160/270 respectively. Both of them are powered by Indilinx chip, in which the Agility 128GB delivers the lowest cost per GB of $2.11.

OCZ’s 3.5″ Coossus SSD is also going to boast very competitive pricing. It’s not just a Vertex in a 3.5″ chassis, but rather multiple Vertex drives running in parallel.

We still have to wait and see if other manufacturers would follow, but it’s really a good sign of things to come.
